Delphin's 64-KTM (64-channel thermocouple measurement device) is a high-precision measuring instrument for temperature measurement using thermocouples.

 

The system was specially developed for multi-channel applications for R&D, laboratory and test stand measurement requirements.

 

The system is being used for measurement tasks in the development of gas turbines, boilers, ovens and furnaces. The 64-KTM achieves precision of up to 0.2 K absolute. This level of accuracy distinguishes the 64-KTM from many competitor products.

 

Configuring the 64-KTM takes place via a LAN interface using the ProfiSignal software and DataService Configurator. The required thermocouple types are assigned to channels using a straight forward configuration template. Users can then commence measurement within a matter of minutes.

 

Redundant data storage and archiving guarantees the complete system fulfils the highest security requirements. Password protection and user management can also be activated when necessary.

The 64KTM system is delivered as a 19" system and is suitable for applications requiring high-precision temperature measurement using thermocouples.

 

Universal thermocouple connectors in a (Cu/Cu) material combination enable users to connect any type of thermocouple via miniature thermocouple connectors with flat pins. This system benefits from the thermocouples being quick and easy to reconnect following each experiment run.

 

If the measurement task requires more than 64 channels, the system can be extended via a CAN bus. The 64-KTM is designed as a 19-inch unit.

 

The housing is aluminium and is suitable for instrument cabinet installation or as a table-top device. The 64-KTM is powered via an IEC connector with 230V AC.

 

A LAN interface with an RJ45 port is available for connecting the 64-KTM to company networks.

 

Functions

High precision

The 64-KTM achieves a high precision of 0.2 K through specially developed thermal blocks with integrated cold junction compensation. The special connectors with integrated cold junction compensation suppress fluctuations in ambient temperature and guarantees long-term measurement stability.

 

The 64-KTM has 4 thermal blocks each with 16 universal and galvanically isolated inputs for temperature measurement. The following thermocouple types are supported: B, C, E, J, K, L, N, R, S, T, U.

 

Each thermal block has an integrated 4-wire RTD (class A) sensor for measuring comparable temperatures. The special mechanical construction, calibration and cold junction compensation delivers precision of 0.2 K.

 

The measured thermoelectric voltage at the connectors is converted and saved directly into degrees Celsius using temperature curves within the device. Measurement transducers are therefore unnecessary. The internal data memory has a capacity for 128 million data records, which equates to around a 70-day recording period.

 

Software

The powerful ProfiSignal software is available for data evaluation and system configuration. Extensive analysis functions within ProfiSignal enable the very easy evaluation of measurement data using different y(t), x(y) and logic diagrams. Data export as .csv files is also possible. Trend diagrams enable the user to smoothly switch, without interruption, between current online data and archived measurement data.

 

The ProfiSignal software enables any measurement channel to be quickly and simply set to the required thermocouple type and sampling rate. ProfiSignal's integrated DataService Configurator delivers a high degree of data security through online archiving and a user management/password system. Many customers value the 64-KTM's channels for threshold value calculation and event processing. These channels enable the computation of characteristic values during measurement runs. When required, any 64-KTM channels can be assigned an alarm function. The DataService Configurator can be used for setting threshold value monitoring conditions and event control. The ProfiSignal software also supports drivers such as LabVIEW™, OCX API and OPC-Server.
