Class 1 laser sensors for fast and precise measurements

optoNCDT 1420 CL1 laser sensors are designed for increased laser class 1 security regulations. With this laser class, the radiated power is at max. 390µW, which is significantly lower than laser class 2. The optoNCDT1420 CL1 offers similar to the optoNCDT 1420 series a unique combination of speed, size, performance and application versatility for displacement, distance and position measurements. The compact triangulation sensor achieves a high measurement accuracy and measuring rates of up to 4kHz.

Use in automotive production

Especially in automotive production where people work in the vicinity to laser sensors, optoNCDT 1420 CL1 models are applied. The CL1 series satisfies the requirements placed by the automotive industry with respect to performance and laser class. Therefore, protective measures that correlate with conventional laser class 2 sensors are no longer necessary.

Measuring sensitive materials

Conventional laser class 2 sensors can cause undesirable reactions in medical and pharmaceutical engineering when measuring sensitive materials. Due to their reduced laser power, optoNCDT 1420 CL1 sensors measure sensitive materials such as substrates without causing any chemical or thermal reaction of the surface.
