Monitoring Clothing and Washing Machine
APPLICATION: An OEM customer which mainly design or make washing sheet machine and clothing machine has washing machine width of 60~80 meters and it is too big to be monitored by one operator on manufacture site. So customer objective is to install remote monitoring system and upload data from HMI to SQL Database.
SOLUTION: We propose to use 8 HMIs for one washing machine. Pro-face HMI can be monitored on PC with GP-Viewer EX. Configuration is simple and customer can modify, maintain the system by themselves. Besides, we also propose to use Pro-Server EX where customer can create data collection system through to SQL Data base. |
Data Collection To Company's Cloud Database
APPLICATION: Customer has many different machine with various PLC brand. Since all of PLCs have its communication protocol, it is hard for them to find a data collection system for whole factory. Customer objective is to establishing proper communication between PLCs and also collect the production data to company’s Cloud Database. They also want to minimize the investment by using back their existing ERP system.
SOLUTION: We proposed our BLUE Open Studio which is a simple data collection system. This lite SCADA can integrate device to ERP/Cloud in a seamless manner. And customer can continue to use their existing ERP system with minimum integration cost. We also introduce our Proface Multi Converter/ Smart gateway which can connect to various brand of PLCs. By introducing GP4000 series smart gateway to the system, various PLCs in the existing factory can be connected easily. |
Data Collection From Remote Kitchens
APPLICATION: Customer objective is to find a simple way to collect data from remote kitchens. They prefer to use standard internet connection without involving IT. The feature should include remote troubleshooting and programming.
SOLUTION: Proface Connect was used for their technical personnel to remotely and securely view, control and program the sites devices (HMIs, PLCs, etc.). MQTT Link program (created for customer) used for WinGP/Pro-Server EX to push data to cloud. IWS is used to log data to database. Normal user can also view the live data through MQTT client or IWS thin client. |
Guiding How To Use HMI in Production
APPLICATION: Customer that produce grinding, deburring and edge rounding machine is not familiar with HMI technology.
SOLUTION: We propose and guide them step by step in the production process. We also help customer to upload digital manuals of the machine. And create a modern graphic interface. We show the demo to customer R&D and management team. They was impressed by the new design and price. However customer required a bigger screen for bigger machine, so we propose our 7” for smaller machine while 10” for bigger machine. |
Support Worldwide End User Remotely
APPLICATION: A packaging machine manufacturer which focus their business in F&B and Cosmetics customer found that their competitor have a better graphic interface when they attend the worldwide exhibitions. Customer need to support their end user remotely as their machines are install worldwide.
SOLUTION: We propose our ST6000 Series HMI with modern graphic interface and the hardware cost is reasonable as well. Customer can create stylish screen through the editor software BLUE and they can perform remote maintenance through secure connect without additional hardware. |
Improve Machine Performance
APPLICATION: Customer from a machine builder which their focus is to build the battery production system, Plant/FA system and SEMI/FPD production machine found that they currently spend too much time to setup the machine at end user site and causing long machine down time to end user. So they intended to improve this process.
SOLUTION: We propose to use Proface Remote HMI with Tablet to check and setup HMI in front of actuator. We also propose customer to use SP5000 series to reduce drawing process. Customer can use exact same design for 15”&10” HMI with auto scaling. This will reduce the cost as all model sharing maintenance parts (Modular design: Power Box). |
Reduce Hardware Cost and Simplify Hardware Design
APPLICATION: A F&B customer found that the cost of their existing machine is higher compare to their competitor. Their existing control system consist of HMI, PLC and temperature controller. Their PLC temperature controller are not compatible to both thermocouple and PT100. Their existing temperature controller cannot be connected to GOT (low cost type) due to only 2 SIO available. So they intended to reduce the hardware cost and simplify the hardware design.
SOLUTION: We propose our Proface LT4000 series which come with build in DIO, inverter and temperature controller. The thermocouple and PT100 can be connected to LT4000 directly without additional controller. Cost can be reduced by removing PLC and temperature controller. This solution impressed our customer and improve their competitiveness. |
