Oil Field Lubrication Tank Radar Level Measurement

_________________________________________________________________

When a Texas oil well service provider needed reliable level measurement of their bulk lube oil tanks, they turned to Flowline. Engine oil, gear oil, hydraulic oil and grease are steadily applied to the pumpjacks and well site support equipment. The lubricants are transported from distributor tanker trucks to field storage tanks to service trucks to point of use. Lubricant demand fluctuates based on the number wells in service, and the difference between supply or shortages is reliable inventory management. During the extreme summer heat, lubricants release vapor, and the field operators complained that past ultrasonic level sensors would become intermittent. For this reason, Flowline suggested our radar sensors that are unaffected by vapor and fluctuating temperatures. The radar sensors provide reliable level data to the displays, which monitor each tank and alarm for lube oil replenishment. Flowline is reliable level measurement.

Gorilla Exhibit Water Sump Ultrasonic Level Measurement

When the San Diego Zoo needed reliable level measurement of their Gorilla Forest sump, they turned to Flowline. These gentle giants live in the mountainous rain forest, surrounded by vegetation, small streams, waterfalls or pools, and the sounds of water are constant. The zoo expertly recreates this habitat with interconnected gravity fed water features. Ultimately, water flows into a small pump station that continuously recirculates it back to the top feature. But the sump also receives a steady intake of leaves, twigs, sediment and turbulence that caused ongoing reliability and maintenance problems. For these reasons, Flowline suggested our ultrasonic level sensor installed in a stand pipe. The ultrasonic sensor provides reliable level data to the SCADA system, which monitors the sump and controls the VFD. Flowline is reliable level measurement.

Sulfuric Acid Bulk Storage Radar Level Measurement

When a Midwest chemical distributor needed reliable level measurement of their sulfuric acid storage tanks, they turned to Flowline. In higher concentrations, sulfuric is exceptionally corrosive and vaporous. Plant operators were dissatisfied with previous ultrasonic level sensors, because vapor attenuated their acoustic signals, causing the sensors to function intermittently, especially during the agitated tank filling process. For this reason, Flowline suggested the use of our radar sensors with PTFE antennas that are unaffected by vapor. The radar sensors provide continuous level data to the PLC, which monitors inventories and alarms for replenishment and safety. Flowline is reliable level measurement.

Sodium Hypochlorite Tank Ultrasonic Level Measurement

When a Northeast water treatment plant needed reliable level measurement of their bleach storage tanks, they turned to Flowline. Sodium hypochlorite is the most cost effective and widely used chemical for drinking water disinfection. The only downside is a reduced shelf life when it’s exposed to sunlight or temperature extremes. To address this, NaCIO tanks are typically encased in foam and heated in the winter. As a result, the temperature differential creates substantial condensation inside the tank. When so, plant operators complained that previous ultrasonic level sensors would become intermittent as condensation drops attenuated their acoustic signals. For this reason, Flowline suggested our proprietary reflective ultrasonic sensors that are unaffected by condensation. The ultrasonic sensor provides reliable level data to the fill station controller, which indicates the level and alarms when full. Flowline is reliable level measurement.

Cannabis Fertigation Tank Ultrasonic Level Measurement

When a Nevada cannabis commercial grow farm needed reliable level measurement of their nutrient supply tanks, they turned to Flowline. To maximize plant growth and bud yields, the farm continuously doses a custom mix of nitrogen, phosphorous and potassium based liquid fertilizer into their irrigation system. Starting from concentrates, the blends are hand mixed and dosed from batch tanks. There the farmers had ongoing problems with pressure level sensors that often failed due to corrosion. For this reason, Flowline suggested our proprietary, non-contact ultrasonic sensors that are unaffected by corrosive or coating fertilizers. The ultrasonic sensors provide reliable level data to the local display, which indicates the level and alarms when approaching empty. Flowline is reliable level measurement.

Canal Stormwater Run Off Radar Level Measurement

When a Southern California stormwater monitoring group needed reliable level measurement of urban canals, they turned to Flowline. The Los Angeles basin is the most hydrologically altered land mass on the planet, where the meadow fed aquifers are covered in concrete, and the diverted stormwater flows into the ocean. Under state grant, the group is chartered with modeling stormwater run-off and developing strategies for retention. The staff had experienced intermittency from exposed ultrasonic level sensors during high wind or rain events. For this reason, Flowline suggested our radar sensors that are unaffected by wind, rain or snow, and are ideal for environmental monitoring applications. The radar sensor provides reliable level data to the telemetry unit, and the wall mounted display provides level indication. Flowline is reliable level measurement.

HVAC Condensate Recovery Tank Float Level Measurement

_________________________________________________________________

When Los Angeles Airport needed reliable level measurement of their HVAC condensate recovery tanks, they turned to Flowline. LAX is completing a $14B terminal renovation, and water conservation is a critical requirement. Condensate is recovered, treated and recycled back into the cooling towers through a network of collection tanks. The tanks design specification called for the use of redundant float level transmitters connected to independent level controllers for the transfer of condensate to separate treatment and recycling systems. For this reason, Flowline suggested the use of our FloaTek level transmittersDataView relay controllers, and dual controller NEMA boxes. The float sensors provide continuous level data to the relay controllers, which indicate the level and control the solenoids. Flowline is reliable level measurement.

Reliable Hot Wastewater Tank Ultrasonic Level Measurement

When a Massachusetts manufacturer of abrasive products needed reliable level measurement and control of their wastewater collection and transfer tanks, they turned to Flowline. The firm produces grinding, honing and finishing wheels for the auto industry. Their technology bonds abrasive grits to parts using heat, resin, glass and sintered metal. Hot wastewater from each process line collects in tanks, that slowly fill and periodically transfer into treatment. There the operators were dissatisfied with previous ultrasonic level sensors that were often intermittent, due to the condensation that attenuated their acoustic signals. For this reason, Flowline suggested our proprietary reflective ultrasonic sensors, that are unaffected by condensation. Each ultrasonic sensor provides reliable level data to a controller, which indicates the tank level and controls a waste transfer pump. Flowline is reliable level measurement.

Bleach Chemical Storage Tank Radar Level Measurement

_________________________________________________________________

When an Arizona municipality needed reliable level measurement of their sodium hypochlorite tank, they turned to Flowline. Adjacent to the local reservoir, the pump station transfers drinking water into the distribution system. During which, bleach is steadily dosed into each transfer for continued disinfection. Sodium hypochlorite is corrosive and vaporous, especially when agitated or under higher temperatures. The operators complained that past ultrasonic level sensors became intermittent during summer or when the tank was being filled. For this reason, Flowline suggested our radar sensors that are unaffected by vapor or agitation. The radar sensor provides reliable level data to the SCADA system, which monitors the tank and alarms for chemical replenishment. Flowline is reliable level measurement.

Fire Suppression Water Tank Ultrasonic Level Measurement

When a California cell tower company needed reliable level measurement of their fire emergency water tanks, they turned to Flowline. Many towers principally serve the driving public and are often located in remote areas near highways. As towers are upgraded to 5G, the networks are faster, but the new equipment generates more heat and requires additional cooling and fire suppression. Without water service, the suppression system is fed by a water tank that’s monitored by SCADA, and periodically topped off by tanker truck delivery. Where towers are located in desert or mountain communities, operators complained that previous ultrasonic level sensors became intermittent during extreme temperatures. For this reason, Flowline suggested our ultrasonic sensors that measure reliably from -40º to 80º C., including through the tank condensation cycles. The ultrasonic sensors provide reliable level data to the SCADA system, which monitors the tanks and alarms for water replenishment. Flowline is reliable level measurement.
