Flume Wastewater Open Channel Radar Flow Transmitter

When an Ohio municipality needed reliable flow measurement of their wastewater intake flume, they turned to Flowline. The treatment plant bills the adjacent communities based on the volume of wastewater that enters the plant through the flume. Fully exposed to the environment, the flume gets sun to snow and everything in between. The I&E technician said that billing accuracy and reliability are critical. He preferred a non-contact flow sensor, required a volumetric output and stated that it must work across all their weather conditions. For these reasons, Flowline suggested our non-contact 80-GHz radar flow sensors that are unaffected by changes in the environment or waste stream. Petroleum Storage Tank Radar Level Transmitter

When a California oil company needed reliable level measurement of their crude oil storage tanks, they turned to Flowline. Their well stream flows through battery tanks for oil, water and methane separation prior to being pumped to bulk storage tanks for truck transportation to their mid-stream refinery customers. There the firm has a remote tank monitoring system and needed to replace pressure level sensors due to their inaccuracies caused by changes in density over temperature and diaphragm clogging over time. Chemical Disinfectant Radar Level Transmitter

When a Canadian meat processor needed reliable level measurement of their water disinfectant make up process, they turned to Flowline. Food safety is their highest priority. Therefore, the plant injects hydrogen peroxide and peracetic acid into their process water stream to combat bacteria, virus, fungi and spore outbreaks. The chemicals mix in their cascading towers where sump levels are monitored to determine when additional water is required. At which time, the towers are refilled with water and proportionately metered chemical. The I&E technician requested a non-contact, corrosion resistant level sensor that’s unaffected by foam, turbulence and tower precipitation. Oil Well Chemical Tank Radar Level Transmitter

When an Oklahoma oil company needed reliable level measurement of their corrosion and scaling inhibitor chemical tanks, they turned to Flowline. Based on the mineral and water composition of each site, one or more inhibitors are commonly injected into the well to protect the casing and increase wellbore lubricity. The challenge is in monitoring and resupplying hundreds of identical small tanks dispersed over large fields. To do so, the operator required a corrosion resistant level sensor with a Modbus signal output for integration with their SCADA, that’s unaffected by weather and easily configured or inspected by their staff. Adhesive IBC Tote Non-Invasive Radar Level Transmitter

When a Northeast envelope manufacturer needed reliable level measurement of their adhesive feed tanks, they turned to Flowline. Each machine is fed glue through an IBC tote. Some totes are plumbed in and refilled by a bulk tank and others are forklift rotated where unique adhesives are required. The operator wanted a single non-contact level sensor that reliably measures foaming adhesive and that can be quickly installed or removed during forklift rotation. For these reasons, Flowline suggested our 80-GHz radar sensors mounted in our non-invasive fitting that can be adhered to or simply placed on the tank top for removal during IBC swaps. Mine Discharge Open Channel Flow Ultrasonic Level Transmitter

When a Northeast mine company needed reliable flow measurement of their process water discharge channel, they turned to Flowline. The company mines iron and uses many thousands of gallons of water per hour washing thick clay off extracted ore when it exits the mine. The resulting effluent flows down a channel and into two settling ponds prior to be being pumped back to the mine. The operator said they must report their cumulative volumetric water use to the state and USGS, and additionally they wanted to monitor and alarm on high or low flow conditions in the channel. For these reasons, Flowline suggested our ultrasonic level sensor with an easy to configure volumetric flow output. When a Southeastern chemical distributor needed reliable NON-INVASIVE level measurement of their customer tanks, they turned to Flowline. The firm produces metal housings for electronic systems and plates or coats those parts to customer requirements. In their first stage dip tanks, parts are etched with a blend of nitric acid, phosphoric acid and foaming surfactant to remove grease and particles. There the operator had ongoing problems with ultrasonic level sensors whose signal would attenuate every time foam developed in the tank. After forming, the company passes the steel through a heated dip tank of nitric acid to remove surface contaminants prior to spray washing and final coiling. The resulting wastewater drains from the process into below grade storage tanks awaiting treatment and disposal.
