Water Treatment Day Tank Ultrasonic Level Sensor

_________________________________________________________________

When the city of Wichita needed reliable level measurement of their water treatment chemical day tanks, they turned to Flowline. Potassium permanganate and sodium hypochlorite are injected into their well water, and plant operators had numerous level problems with pressure and bubbler sensors due to coating or corrosion that required maintenance and replacement. For this reason, Flowline suggested the use of our non-contact ultrasonic sensors with rugged PVDF transducers and sealed IP68 enclosures that are ideal for chemical day tank applications. The ultrasonic sensors provide continuous level data to the SCADA system, which in turn, monitors each tank, and periodically refills them. Flowline is reliable level measurement.

Municipal Wastewater Sump Radar Level Sensor

When a California wastewater treatment plant needed reliable level measurement of their wash down sumps, they turned to Flowline. The facility and equipment are pressure washed on a regular basis to remove waste, dirt and chemical residue. These waste streams flow into one of two sumps, that collect and transfer the media into treatment. There the operators had problems with ultrasonic level sensors that performed intermittently when the media foamed, and thus absorbed the acoustic signal. For this reason, Flowline suggested the use of our pulse radar sensors that are unaffected by surface foam, and ideal for waste sumps. The pulse radar sensors provide continuous level data to the SCADA system, which in turn, monitors the sumps, and controls the pumps. Flowline is reliable level measurement.

Marine Wastewater Tank Ultrasonic Level Sensor

When a Northern California marine animal rescue center needed reliable level measurement of their bulk wastewater storage tanks, they turned to Flowline. The rehabilitation center provides safe refuge and veterinary services to hundreds of sick or injured sea lions and otters a year. The majority of which live in group holding pens where they lounge or play in exercise pools. Each week, the pools are drained, cleaned and refilled. During which, wastewater is pumped into storage tanks and staged for treatment. There the operators had problems with pressure level sensors that would clog with animal feces. For this reason, Flowline suggested our non-contact ultrasonic sensors. The ultrasonic sensors provide continuous level data to the PLC, which in turn, monitors the tanks, and controls the pumps. Flowline is reliable level measurement.

Remote Tank Monitoring Ultrasonic Level Sensor

When a Central California municipality needed reliable level measurement of their remote water storage tanks, they turned to Flowline. The tanks are located high above the valley floor where they gravity feed several thousand homes with drinking water. With no power onsite, the operators grew tired of periodically driving to each location, and manually checking tank levels. For this reason, they installed solar-powered monitoring systems with Flowline ultrasonic sensors. The systems wake up twice a day, take a measurement and transit the data via long range WIFI to a base station, where the data is ported for IoT use. The ultrasonic sensors provide periodic level data to the IoT cloud software, which in turn, datalogs the tanks, and alarms for refilling. Flowline is reliable level measurement.

Sodium Permanganate Tank Radar Level Sensor

When a California municipality needed reliable level measurement of their sodium permanganate storage tanks, they turned to Flowline. The purple oxidizer is used by their treatment plant to cleanse the taste and odor of the city drinking water. Highly corrosive, vaporous and sticky, plant operators had experienced problems with pressure level sensors due to corrosion, and ultrasonic level sensors due to vapor and the resulting signal attenuation. For this reason, Flowline suggested the use of our non-contact, corrosion resistant, pulse radar sensors that are unaffected by vapor. The pulse radar sensors provide continuous level data to the SCADA system, which in turn, monitors the tanks, and alarms for replenishment. Flowline is reliable level measurement.

Industrial Waste Sump Guided Wave Level Sensor

When a Vermont paper company needed reliable level measurement of the sumps that protect their paper machines, they turned to Flowline. Each wet process machine continuously splashes foamy water and paper particulates into two adjacent sumps, and the operators had ongoing problems with level sensors that resulted in spills. Their ultrasonic sensors failed due to foam and float sensors failed due to material build-up. For this reason, Flowline suggested the use of our guided wave liquid level sensors that are unaffected by foam or material build-up. The guided wave sensor provides reliable level data to the PLC, which in turn, monitors the sump levels and actuates the transfer pumps. Flowline is reliable level measurement.

Soap Foaming Agent Tank Radar Level Sensor

When a North Carolina manufacturer of hand cleansers and de-sanitizers needed reliable level measurement of their bulk storage tanks, they turned to Flowline. A critical ingredient is sodium laureth sulfate, a highly effective foaming agent that’s used in most of their products. But this is a challenging liquid to measure that’s sticky, very low dielectric and extremely foaming when agitated. For this reason, Flowline suggested the use of our pulse radar level sensors (that are unaffected by foam) installed in a metal stand-pipe to maximize the RF signal strength and reflectivity off the surface of the low dielectric media. The pulse radar sensor provides continuous level data to the PLC, which in turn, monitors the tank levels and actuates low level alarms for chemical distributor replenishment. Flowline is reliable level measurement.

Aquarium Life Science Tank Ultrasonic Level Sensor

When the National Marine Aquarium in Baltimore, Maryland needed reliable level measurement of their brine water storage and animal quarantine holding tanks, they turned to Flowline. Central to their success is the reliable monitoring, filtration and movement of purified saltwater throughout their vast exhibit and process tank network. The operators required non-contact level measurement for water purity and separation from their sea life, and corrosion resistance for sensor longevity. For this reason, Flowline suggested the use of our ultrasonic sensors with plastic construction. The ultrasonic sensors provide continuous level data to the PLC, which in turn, monitors the tanks, and controls the water transfer pumps. Flowline is reliable level measurement.

HCL And NaOH Storage Tank Ultrasonic Level Sensor

When a San Diego county municipality needed reliable level measurement of their neutralization chemical storage tanks, they turned to Flowline. Hydrochloric acid and sodium hydroxide are metered into wastewater mix tanks where the batches are blended and neutralized. The tank fittings are located next to the side wall, and plant operators had ongoing problems with a different brand of ultrasonic level sensors due to their wide beam angle, and the resulting signal interference. For this reason, Flowline suggested the use of our ultrasonic sensors that have narrow, collimated beams that are ideal for applications with limited measurement space. The ultrasonic sensors provide continuous level data to the SCADA system, which in turn, monitors the tanks, and controls the process. Flowline is reliable level measurement.

DEF Motor Chemical Storage Tank Guided Wave Level Sensor

When a North Carolina distributor of automotive chemicals needed reliable level measurement of their bulk storage tanks, they turned to Flowline. The company blends, packages and delivers a range of motor chemicals such as coolant, DEF, transmission fluid and antifreeze, and they needed to automate their inventory management process. The chemicals are non-corrosive and mildly coating, and they tend to foam when the tanks are filled. For this reason, Flowline suggested the use of our guided wave liquid level sensors that are ideal for difficult metal tank applications with foaming or coating type chemicals. The guided wave sensor provides reliable level data to the PLC, which in turn, monitors the tank levels, and provides inventory data and reorder alarms to their chemical suppliers. Flowline is reliable level measurement.
