Probe Tips                                                                                                            Technical Spec

Contact size, shape and material are critical to ensure accurate measurements, foe example a flat knife tip makes measuring external diameters much simpler than using a point tip as probe alignment is not as critical. Tungsten carbide is a good general purpose material while ruby offers longer life. Silicon Nitride is good for aluminum as Tungsten Carbide can mark aluminum parts.

PSIM (Power Supply Interface Module)

For use with multi-channel systems needing more power than available from the host computer. The power supply can also extend the network beyond the normal 10m per port limit depending on cable type. PSIM dimensions are identical to PIE plus T-Con, however the unit does not separate.

Clamping Collets and Sleeves                                                                           Technical Spec

Replacement Gaiters: Gaiters can be replaced when damaged. Only pneumatic push probes require gaiter rings Retrofit.

Right Angle Adaptor: For use with spring push gauging probes

Imperial Adaptor Sleeves: Adapter Sleeves can be used to increase the body diameter of 8mm sensors to 9.512 (3/8”). Available in lengths from 12 to 127 mm. Available with or without a split.

Clamping Collet: For use with all 8 mm diameter probes. The clamping collet distributes the clamping forces evenly around the probe body. Using the supplied grub screw, the probe can be loosened while holding the collet in place.

Digital Gauging Probe Spring Push DPS

SI400

A Four Channel system for easy connections into PLC or Automation

Solartron Metrology, the world leader in linear measurement innovation, introduces a new Orbit® 3 based system for easy, low cost connections into PLCs and process control systems. The SI400 will connect to, and power, three additional sensors for a four channel reading. You can even combine gauging probes, Orbit® LT, and Orbit® LTH on the same stack of modules. No other digital system offers this!

30mm Range Digital Probe

Full calibration over 30mm

Accurate absolute sensor an alternative to incremental encoders

The new DT/30/P Digital Probe provides a full 30 mm of measuring range, while maintaining excellent linearity and repeatability. Unlike many longer range measuring sensors, the DT/30/P is absolute sensor so can never suffer from loss of position often found with incremental encoders.

Profinet Module

Profinet® to Orbit®3 Interface Module

Simple interface to any Profinet® enabled PLC

The PIM makes it simple to interface a wide range of contact and non contact linear measurement sensors, rotary encoders, temperature and pressure sensors and discrete inputs and outputs via ProfiNet ®. This stand alone, Din Rail mounted module provides one ProfiNet® port and one ORBIT®3 port which can power up to ten sensors;. This can be extended up to a maximum of 150 sensors with the use of  supplementary power modules.

Single Leaf Flexures SLF DUSM

Single Leaf Measurement Transducers

A new range of flexure based measurement sensors designed to measure hard to reach areas such as bores and gaps.

Flexures can be mounted so that there is little stress through the gauging line enabling precision profiling of moving materials such as rotating shafts, brake discs etc.  Following from Solartron successful range of parallel flexure products the single leaf flexure offers the gauge builder access to even more measurement points. With careful use of extension arms measurements can be made inside slots or between features where a conventional pencil probe cannot reach.

The standard single leaf flexure is available as both an Orbit Digital product (DUS/0.5/S) or analogue LVDT (AUS/0.25/S)

The DUS and AUS can be configured to operate in either direction, it can also be supplied with an adjustable tip.

The Miniature Single Leaf Flexure is another variant of flexure based contact probes. The miniature single leaf flexure has a calibrated range of 0 – 500 microns and provides the means for alternative configurations of contact tip mounting.

Wireless Sensors and Tools

The freedom to roam with Solartron’s WiGauge™ brings increased efficiency to gauging stations and work practices. The ability to work without cables means that the gauging process is not restricted by cable length and routing, or the risk of cable damage.

Wireless Bore Gauge
  •  10 mm and 6 mm diameter fixing threads (as used on most popular gauge heads)
  •  Inductive Charging
  •  10 hours typical battery life before re-charge
