The scanCONTROL 8500 laser scanners are the latest generation of high-performance profile sensors. With integrated SMART evaluation, ultra-compact design and high accuracy, they enable precise measurements of 2D profiles and 3D geometries.


As the first laser scanner in its class worldwide, the scanCONTROL 8500 uses Green Laser technology and achieves significantly improved signal stability, even on challenging surfaces. With 4K resolution and high measurement speed, these new models are among the most powerful laser scanners for industrial applications.

As the world's first laser scanners with innovative Green Laser technology, the scanCONTROL 8x00 models offer significantly improved signal stability. Their optimized wavelength reduces noise to a minimum and enables shorter exposure times, greater repeatability and a significantly wider range of applications.

All laser scanners can be equipped with cooling units for operation at high ambient temperatures. Passive cooling ribs, active cooling ribs with fans and customized cooling solutions are available for industrial applications such as plastic extrusion or welding processes.

The 3DInspect software enables simple parameter setting and the convenient creation of 2D and 3D measurement programs. The intuitive user interface enables quick and easy configuration of measurement sequences. Via the integrated automation interface, the measurement programs created are directly stored on the scanner for SMART operation. This allows automated measurements without additional control units.

Dual Processing Unit
 

TThe Dual Processing Unit (DPU) is an interface module that enables the synchronous recording and calculation of two sensor values and can also be used for digital/analog conversion. The inputs on the module can be switched via software (encoder or RS422 input). Selectable programs allow the automatic calculation of thickness, diameter, step or inclination, concentricity and ovality. The data output can be digital or analog with up to 100 kHz. Signal inputs and switching outputs are also available.


In the user-friendly web interface, the desired calculations can be selected and many other settings made. The DPU is downwards compatible with the C-Box/2A.

IF2035 interface module for Industrial Ethernet connection
 

The IF2035 interface modules are designed for easy connection of Micro-Epsilon sensors to Industrial Ethernet controllers, e.g., plant control systems. The PROFINET and EthernetIP modules are compatible with sensors that output data via an RS422 or RS485 interface. These modules operate on the sensor side with up to 4 MBaud and have two network connections for different network topologies. Installation in switching cabinets is via a DIN rail.
