Powerful 2D/3D laser scanners

 
scanCONTROL 30x2 laser scanners are powerful profile sensors in terms of size, accuracy and measuring rate. These laser scanners provide calibrated 2D profile data with up to 5.12 million points per second. With a maximum profile frequency of 5 kHz, the scanners are designed for precise profile measurements in dynamic processes. The sensor matrix offers a resolution of 1,024 points with a point distance from 24 µm. This means that even small details can be detected reliably.

High-precision white light interferometers for non-contact distance and thickness measurements

 
The innovative white light interferometers from Micro-Epsilon set a benchmark in high-precision distance and thickness measurements. These sensors enable stable measurement results with sub-nanometer resolution offering a comparatively large measuring range and offset distance. The interferometers are available in 3 series: the IMS5400-DS for high-precision industrial distance measurements, the IMS5400-TH for accurate thickness measurements and the vacuum-suitable IMS5600-DS for distance measurements with picometer resolution.

Interferometer for industry and automation

The industrial white light interferometer consists of a robust sensor, a highly flexible sensor cable and a controller in an aluminum housing that can be mounted on a DIN rail. The controller has an active temperature control, which compensates for changes in the ambient temperature and thus achieves an enormous temperature stability. Thanks to its robust design, the interferometer can also be integrated in industrial environments. Cable lengths up to 10 m also allow a spatial separation of sensor and controller. For measurement tasks in clean rooms and in vacuum, vacuum-suitable sensors, cables and cable feed-through accessories are available.

 
 
 

Extreme z resolution and small light spot enable measurements of smallest of details and structures

The interferometer sensors enable a sub-nanometer resolution. In addition, they generate a 10 µm light spot over the entire measuring range. This allows the measurement of small details such as structures on semiconductors and miniaturized electronic components. The light spot is visualized by a pilot laser and facilitates the alignment of the sensor.

 

Ease of use via web interface

Due to a user-friendly web interface, no additional software is necessary to configure the controller and the sensors. The web interface is accessible via Ethernet connection and enables quick and easy setting of, e.g., averaging, measuring rate and presets.

 
 

Modern interfaces for integration into machines and systems

The controller offers integrated interfaces such as Ethernet, EtherCAT and RS422 as well as additional encoder connections, analog outputs, synchronization inputs and digital I/Os. This allows the interferometer to be integrated into all control systems and production programs.

Measuring coating thickness on CFRP and other substrates

The FSC is a non-destructive measurement device for fast thickness measurement of paint and other electrically insulating layers on substrates such as carbon fiber-reinforced plastics (CFRP), CFRP with metallic lightning protection and metals. This mobile device consists of a sensor and a controller for operating and display purposes. The system operates in a non-destructive manner using microwaves in the ISM band without requiring any coupling medium. The FSC is, among other things, used in the aviation industry and is certified for use by renowned aircraft manufacturers.

The FSC1/7 is used to determine the coating thickness on CFRP and other substrates and has a measuring range of 500 µm. In contrast to other measuring procedures, no minimum thickness is required which enables to detect even low layer thicknesses reliably. The measurement only lasts for approx. 1 second. The scope of supply includes reference films with known thickness based on which the measurement object can be calibrated. The calibration data can be stored and loaded at any time. The measurement can be exported via a USB connection for external further processing.

Precise True Color Sensors

The colorSENSOR CFO is a new controller for precise color recognition in industrial measurement tasks. The CFO series is distinguished by high color accuracy, state-of-the-art interfaces and intuitive operation. The controller is connected to CFS sensors with integrated optical fibers, which can be adapted for different measurement tasks. The colorSENSOR CFO is used in color recognition tasks on interior parts such as head supports, in packaging control or in color sorting tasks with crown caps, closures or labels. The colorSENSOR replaces the LT series models.

Intuitive operation via web interface

The integrated, intuitive web interface simplifies configuration of the CFO system. The sensor is connected to a PC via an Ethernet interface. The web interface features measurement value display, set up and configuration of e.g. exposure and measurement frequency. Furthermore, the sensor can be adapted to suit different color groups and tolerance space for each color.

 
 

Customer-specific calibration

In order to improve the recognition performance and to reduce deviating measurement values between several sensors for a certain configuration, customers can request a customer-specific calibration for the colorSENSOR CFO200. Therefore, the sensor and the controller are calibrated to the customer-specific reference target in the measurement arrangement required. A measurement deviation of Delta E < 1 between the individual systems can be achieved. Due to the calibration, the sensors are exchangeable and measure colors which have almost the same Lab values.

Thickness profile measurement in calender and roller-head systems directly at the calender roll

The thicknessCONTROL TCP 8303.ET measuring system accepts the challenge of profile thickness measurements in calender rolls where it solves complex tasks in harsh environments while providing the data required to optimize the production process. Similar to the thicknessCONTROL TCP 7303.ET, the measuring principle of the system is based on the combination of a laser triangulation sensor and an eddy current sensor.
